I will be using this blog site to update family and friends on my experiences as a travel nurse in New York during COVID-19! My assignment is at the Long Island Community hospital from April 13th till May 24th, 2020.

My why
Growing up, I always wanted to be a nurse. I absolutely love my profession, for numerous reasons. One being, the ability it gives me to help others. My education and experience has provided me with a unique skill set. As a nurse, I have been placed in a position where I can do something. I can help, the patients and my fellow nurses. Especially as a ICU nurse.
The entrance of COVID-19 into my life was, like everyone else, unexpected. It has caused a lot of devastation throughout the world. I acknowledge that I will be more exposed to the virus. That a majority of my work days will be hard, emotionally and physically. I have come to terms with that. I am as ready as I can be. Ready to help serve at the 'front lines', because I want life back to normal, for all of us.
